Real Time Interfacing provides an in-depth discussion of the design of real-time embedded systems using 9S12 microcontrollers. My big complaint about the book is the number of errors.

I mostly enjoy the level of detail presented although the chapter on scheduling and semaphores should include more depth and stronger theory.
