The time I’ve taken to read this book has been much Some of his chapters were quite long, but worth getting through. Flavel handles his task with theological precision and cogent application. I found this one to be VERY worthwhile. I stopped after having read the introduction and the Not exactly my cup of tea. It’s a beautiful and strengthening book I would commend to anyone.

Certainly not a good book to give to non-Christians, but then again, that was not the public the writer had in mind. You just have to be patient enough to mine it. It is true, things that greatly affect us are not easily forgotten by us; and yet, how ordinary is it for new impressions to raze out former ones?
